Next Generation Condiment Caps [Final Project]
For our final project, our group designed and fabricated a new kind of condiment cap that keeps that watery stuff out and your condiments just how you want it! When condiments like ketchup and mustard sit unused for long periods of time, the insoluble ingredients begin to separate from the water, leaving a film at the top. When you go to use it, you get a nice splash of water... right on your hot dog! It's pretty gross, so we wanted to do something about it. Months of experimenting, editing and 3D-printing brought us to a final product that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. To read more about this project, click here.

Sketch Model Challenge
The sketch model challenge is the first project of the year in MMAE 432. It is a hands-on group project that teaches students to work together and introduces the prototyping process. Students must create a human-powered vehicle to be used in a dodgeball tournament using typical drafting materials, such as foam core and cardboard. The vehicle requires a driver and a rider. The driver can only move and steer the vehicle; the rider can pick up dodge balls and throw them at opponents. The two lab sections of the course will be pitted against on another to determine which is superior.
